  2. TARGETED TECHNIQUE TRAINING: ArtisticSTRONG Small Group Training:  August 9th & 10th only; Ages 10+ for serious ballet students only
  3. RAD Summer Session: Examination preparation with private coaching

1. PROFESSIONAL & PRE-PROFESSIONAL SUMMER TRAINING INTENSIVES 

Dates:

  • Week One: July 17 -21, 2017
  • Week Two:  July 24 – 28, 2017
  • Week Three: August 14 – 18, 2017
  • Week Four: August 21 – 25, 2017
  • Week Five:  August 28- September 1, 2017

Note: Each week may be taken independently

Levels:

  • Standard 5 (Ages 15+): Must have obtained the Advanced 1 RAD/ISTD or equivalent Formal Training
  • Standard 4 (Ages 12-15): Must have obtained the Intermediate RAD or ISTD Intermediate Foundation or equivalent Formal training (must have been en-pointe for over 1 year)
  • Standard 3 (Ages 10 – 13): Must have obtained the RAD Gr 4 or ISTD Gr 3 or equivalent Formal Training
  • Standard 2 (Ages 8 – 10): Must have obtained the RAD Gr 2 or ISTD Gr 1 or equivalent Formal Training
  • Standard 1 (Ages 6 – 8): For students going into Primary/ Grade 1 or 2 RAD/ Primary or Grade 1 ISTD  *Std 1 only offered July 17 – 21  and Aug 14 – 18

Auditions/Placement:

  • Standard 1, 2 and 3 Levels do not require an audition.  The Artistic Director will place students in the correct training level at the point of registration.
  • Standard 4 & 5 students are required to send a video link (vimeo or youtube) to info@proarte.ca  for placement.

Audition video:  Please show a ballet variation or short solo/or centre work, allegro and pointe enchainment. 

Hours & Classes:

  • Standard 4 & 5:  10am – 4.30pm: Ballet Technique, Pointe & Variations/ Pas De Deux (Std 5 only)/ Contemporary Pointe, Stretch & Dance/Pilates Conditioning/ Yoga, Contemporary/ Modern/ Contact Improv/ Lyrical/ Contemporary Jazz Techniques
  • Standard 3: 11.45am – 5pm: Ballet Technique, Pre-Pointe/Pointe & Classical Repertoire, Stretch & Dance Conditioning, Contemporary/ Modern Technique, Lyrical/ Contemporary Jazz Technique
  • Standard 2: 10.30am – 2.15pm:  Daily Ballet Technique, Daily Stretch & Dance Conditioning, Modern Technique/ Lyrical/Jazz Technique
  • Standard 1: 10.30am – 2.15pm:  Daily Ballet Technique, Daily Stretch & Dance Conditioning, Modern Technique/ Lyrical/Jazz Technique

Fees:

  • Standard 4&5: $480 + gst per week (15% discount on three or more weeks)
  • Standard 3: $380 + gst per week (15% discount on three or more weeks)
  • Standard 2: $260 + gst per week (15% discount on three or more weeks)
  • Standard 1: $260 + gst per week

An Early Registration discount of 10% will be applied to all fully paid registrations received before May 15, 2017.  Payment in full is required prior to the commencement of classes.

 

Housing/Accommodation:

  • Homestays: includes transport to and from the school & all meals (Budget between $250 -$325 per week). To receive a list of some homestay possibilities email info@proarte.ca

 2. TARGETED TECHNIQUE TRAINING: Targeted Technique Training: 

 ArtisticSTRONG Small Group Training: August 9th & 10th only

FOCUSED around movement re-education and body awareness towards postural & placement that will ensure safe & progressive achievement of technique with a take home exercise package. Work will include both studio and pilates gym time.

  • Group 1: Intermediate/ Advanced ages 13+
  • Group 2: Junior Advanced/ Intermediate Foundation 9- 13yrs

TIME: 11.00am – 3.15pm

WEDNESDAY 9th:

Group 1:

11.00 – 1.00pm  “Turn like a Top” – Learn turning tricks from the pros

1.00 – 1.15pm break

1.15 – 3.15pm “The death of Port de Bras” – Fixing  the “smartphone” generation’s forward head & rolled shoulders with upper body work

Group 2:

  • Program Cost: $60+tax per session. Sessions may be taken independently.
  • Program Capacity: Minimum 4 dancers, Maximum 6 dancers per group
  • Program Faculty: Astrid Sherman (F.I.S.T.D; member of IADMS Education Committee); Beverley Bagg (Former ballet mistress Alberta Ballet & Ballet BC); Susie Higgins (Pro Arte Dance Conditioning/Pilates specialist)
