Pro Arte graduates Andrea Pena and Raquel Lefebvre Lanziner were honoured and privileged to be nominated by Ballet BC and Le Jeune Ballet du Québec to attend the prestigious Banff

Drawing on a 60-year legacy as one of Canada’s premier sites for creative development in dance, The Banff Centre’s Professional Dance program brings dancers to Banff for three weeks of intensive classes and rehearsal, followed by a week of mainstage performances and offer an intense professional rehearsal and performance schedule for young dancers of exceptional promise.

Summer School Going Strong

Pro Arte Centre is full of energized young people, ready to take on their next dancing and educational challenge. We are in the middle of our July intensive training weeks and the progress has been astonishing. This summer, the intensive classes are averaging 70 students per week divided between our 4 levels.

  • 14 Students completed PE and Planning 10 with Pro Merita.
  • 12 Students were entered for the summer RAD major examination session.
  • We are especially pleased to advise that  Alisha Ahmadi and Chloe Campbell completed Advanced II RAD.
  • Grade 11 and 12 students are gaining volunteer hours at Pro Arte during the summer months, which fulfills  Pro Arte Centre’s commitment to helping our students achieve their requirements for B.C.’s GradTransitions.  This includes costume management, stock taking and organizational duties.

Pro Arte Centre is a community that fosters the educational and artistic goals of aspiring students The teachers have been encouraged by the professionalism and dedication of the students attending the summer intensives.

Congratulations to Brittany Rogers – Canada Olympic Team Gymnast

Astrid Sherman (Ms Astrid) is pleased to congratulate Brittany Rogers, North Shore Flicka gymnast, on her selection to the Canadian Olympic team.  Ms. Astrid was privileged to work with Brittany on her floor routine and was amazed by her tenacity and determination in representing our great country of Canada. The Pro Arte family will be applauding Brittany and her coach, David Kenwright as they take their place amongst Canada’s champions.
